Young defender Pascal Struijk has joined Leeds from Dutch giants Ajax.

Leeds United’s newest recruit Pascal Struijk has posted on Instagram after becoming the latest youngster to join the Yorkshire outfit from Dutch giants Ajax on Monday morning.
Struijk, 18, has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal with Leeds, keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2021 as he brings plenty of potential with him after beginning his career in the elite youth academy of Ajax.

A three-time Holland Under-17 international, Struijk will link-up with Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 side as confirmed by Leeds’ official website with the intention of moving him into the first team when Leeds see fit.
Struijk posted on Instagram as he signed his new contract with the Whites, stating his ambition to help gain promotion with Leeds and make them a “steady force in the Premier League” once again.
Central defender Struijk has already developed a reputation as a goalscoring defender, and can even play up front as some centre-backs have done in the past.
Scoring six goals in 18 for Ado Den Haag’s Under-19’s, he moved to Ajax and continued to find the back of the net with two goals in 21 outings. Standing at 6ft 2in, Struijk boasts an aerial prowess better than most.
He will be hoping to have a larger impact than Leeds’ two Dutch summer recruits, as Vurnon Anita and Jay-Roy Grot both struggle to make an impression since their moves to Elland Road.
