Leeds United are linked to defender Pascal Struijk.

In any other year, Leeds raiding Ajax would be lauded and the signing seen as a potential coup.
But Leeds fans have become numb to the additions of highly rated youngsters, because they have been so common over the past 12 months.
This is reflective of impressive long term strategy from Leeds to plan for the future, but supporters are understandably impatient after nearly 15 years outside the top flight.

Leeds are just three points off the play-offs and fans fear a repeat of last season, failing to capitalise on a promising start and falling short of a top six place.
Making a mistake is frustrating enough, but not learning from it and doing it again is understandably infuriating.
This does not mean though that Struijk’s signing should not be appreciated, he is simply arriving at the wrong time from a PR perspective, but he is still a bright talent who Ajax had high hopes for.
Struijk is a Dutch youth international who has been a regular for Ajax’s under-19 side this season.
Managing to lure him to sign is a nod to the attractive destination Leeds are becoming for top young players, and in the future he could go on to look like a tremendous bargain.
