Arsenal fans haven’t seen the very best of Thomas Partey as of yet.
The North Londoners spent £45 million on bringing the Ghanaian powerhouse to the Emirates Stadium in October of last year.
But the former Atletico Madrid midfielder has suffered three injuries this early in his Arsenal career.
It’s been a very stop-start beginning to life in the Premier League for the 27-year-old, but Partey has delivered some very good news on this front.
Asked by Football London when Arsenal fans can expect to see the best of him, Partey responded: “I think this is just the starting. I’m starting to get used to how my mates play and how the Premier League goes. With time everything will be good. I will give all my best and I try to do all my work to be at my best.”
Arsenal, who sit 10th in the Premier League table, have been dreadful domestically, it has to be said, but head coach Mikel Arteta has also been pretty unlucky.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has spent most of the campaign struggling for the sort of goals that he’d been scoring with his eyes closed in recent years, and it’s difficult to criticise the Spaniard for Partey’s woes.
It does make you wonder though, how much better would the Emirates Stadium side be doing if not for Aubameyang’s issues and Partey’s injuries?
We’ll never know, but what we do know is that the Gabon marksman is getting back to his best – and if Partey says the same applies to him, it’s a very exciting prospect indeed.
