West Ham United are in the Premier League relegation zone at the moment.

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour suggested on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (broadcast from 6am, September 26, 2016) that Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini cannot play together for West Ham United.
Payet and Lanzini are attacking midfielders and are important players for West Ham.
Despite having a good squad, the Hammers are struggling at the moment. Slaven Bilic’s side are currently third from bottom in the Premier League with just three points from six matches.
Former Arsenal and Middlesbrough midfielder Parlour has suggested that Payet and Lanzini cannot be deployed at the same time by manager Bilic.

“I think sometimes you are playing a couple of luxury players,” said Parlour on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (broadcast from 6am, September 26, 2016).
“Can you play Payet and Lanzini together? When you are really chasing a result or have to scrap out a result, you probably can’t.
“It’s all well when everything is going well, you can play them two. That might be where he changes.”

While Parlour does have a point, it must be noted that West Ham’s main problem is at the back.
While neither Payet nor Lanzini has been great so far this season, the Hammers would not have been in their current situation had they been solid at the back and not conceded cheap goals.
West Ham have scored seven times, created 63 chances and conceded 16 goals in six Premier League matches so far this campaign.
