Speaking to Sky Sports, former Celtic star Jackie McNamara has tipped Scott Brown to one day become the manager of Celtic.
Brown’s long stay at Celtic is set to end in the summer as he prepares to join Aberdeen in a player-coach role, and McNamara believes that this step into coaching may signal an eventual role as Celtic’s boss.
He told Sky Sports: “In terms of the coaching side of it, I think if he goes away and learns he might come back as the manager one day as well.
“He’s been a fantastic servant to Celtic, 14 years.
“He’s been a great captain, a great leader, and I think he will be a big miss to the dressing room and the fans, but he goes with everybody’s best wishes and I hope that he does well.
“Managers in the last number of years, with Brendan [Rodgers] and Neil [Lennon] spoke really highly of him
“With the coaching side, I know he was doing coaching before Brendan came in and stopped that to focus on his playing career.
“But I think doing this role as well gives him the chance to put his foot into the coaching role as well. Although he is still playing, and I feel like he has a lot to offer on the field.
“I think it’s a good move and I think he has the potential to come back to Celtic as the manager.”

McNamara may be right here.
Brown certainly has the passion for the club to one day come back, and if he takes to coaching, he may one day be good enough.
The midfielder will go down as a Celtic legend, and we’re sure that fans would welcome him back with open arms one day if McNamara’s prediction does come true.
This is a scenario that is still years away at this point, but Celtic fans may want to keep one eye on how Brown’s coaching career is going.
