Gabby Agbonlahor wasn’t a happy man on Twitter following Aston Villa’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham.
The former striker posted that Villa ‘must be a top team’ for the opposition to ‘park the bus like that’, as he added his comments with an image of buses parked alongside one another.
Agbonlahor’s intention during that Twitter message were pretty clear and it’s obvious that he also didn’t enjoy some of the decisions that took place at the London Stadium on Monday night.
The controversial moment took place in stoppage-time when VAR judged that Ollie Watkins’ equalising goal was offside before also missing the foul on the striker, which would have awarded the away side a penalty.
Dean Smith’s side were by far the better team for large parts of the match, with David Moyes being forced into a tactical change at half-time.
One of the individuals who came on was Said Benrahma and he had an impact straight away because he assisted Jarrod Bowen for what turned out to be the winning goal.
But, from there on in, Villa were on the front foot and looking for that equaliser which never came as West Ham held their ground and secured all three points.
The Hammers are well aware that there has been an element of luck in the result they have picked up, but it’s not just about picking up points when you are playing well.
