Well, Ivan Perisic to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Lilywhites have completed their first signing of what promises to be a very exciting summer.

After Antonio Conte got Spurs back into the Champions League, ENIC injected £150 million into the club [Bloomberg] to be used throughout the transfer window.

And in terms of bargain, well Tottenham might not get a better one than this from Fabio Paratici this summer.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is famous for liking a bargain and has pulled off quite a few during his lengthy spell in North London.

But the addition of Perisic might well prove to be an insane one and one Levy himself will be envy that he didn’t orchestrate.

Why is Perisic a bargain?

Firstly, this is someone who Tottenham are signing for free.

Yes, he’s 33 and in the twilight of his career, but the Croatia international – who has 113 caps for his country – remains an absolutely rapid player and one who will hurt Premier League defences.

Secondly, this is also a player who Chelsea were interested in signing and anyone who snubs the West Londoners, to join Tottenham on a Bosman, is absolutely someone who represents a steal.

And finally, he has seemingly taken a wage cut to join up with Antoino Conte’s side.

According to Football London, as covered by HITC Sport, the veteran winger will earn £98,000 per week in the Premier League, having earned £125,000 a week at Inter Milan last season and earlier.

Ivan Perisic to Tottenham Hotspur isn’t a signing that’ll transform the club into Premier League winners.

It is, however, an addition that will help the Lilywhites continue making progress under Conte and for free, well this time next year he might be thought of as one of the steals of this summer.
