Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after The Telegraph reported that Toby Alderweireld is set to leave the club.
The Belgian is set to join Al-Duhail in a £13m deal, and as you can imagine, this report had a number of Spurs fans talking.
Strangely, many Spurs fans were actually quite happy to see this report, despite the fact Alderweireld has been one of their best defenders in recent years.
To be fair, we can absolutely understand why Spurs fans would be happy with this move.
£13m is a big fee for a 32-year-old centre-back who has regressed over the past 12 months, and with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Cristian Romero looking increasingly likely to join the club, Alderweireld may have soon found himself surplus to requirements.
Getting £13m for the defender is a great deal, and supporters on social media have been hailing Fabio Paratici for getting such a fantastic fee.
