Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for another striker this summer and appear to have found a left-field target in Crotone’s Simy.
Harry Kane’s future remains unclear, but even if he stays, Tottenham need to find another striker to support him with Carlos Vinicius now gone.
Finding a striker will to play second fiddle isn’t easy, but Fabio Paratici is seemingly keen to utilise his contacts in the Italian market once again.
The Telegraph report that Paratici fancies bringing Crotone striker Simy to North London following his relegation to the second tier of Italian football.
The 29-year-old had spells in Portugal before heading to Italy in 2016, and he has really exploded in the last couple of seasons.
Simy hit 20 goals in Serie B to fire Crotone to promotion in the 2019-20 season, before then hitting another 20 goals in Serie A.
The step up didn’t affect Simy as he continued to be a goal machine. He may not be a big name, but Simy is a huge threat – quite literally at 6ft 6in tall – and could be a cheap option off the bench for Nuno Espirito Santo.
Fans may not be too aware of Simy, and Crotone boss Serse Cosmi has offered his view on the Nigerian hitman this year.

Cosmi suggested in March that Simy has ‘special physicality’ and can look ‘uncoordinated’ due to his very long legs and huge frame.
Cosmi added that people don’t understand the ‘sheer potential’ Simy has given his goalscoring exploits in Serie A, believing that you just know he’s going to score every penalty he takes because he is so calm.
A move to Tottenham may be underwhelming for some Spurs fans, but it would be the biggest moment of Simy’s career – and Cosmi seemingly believes that he can cause problems wherever he goes.
