Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are loving life after CalcioMercato reported that their pursuit of Cristian Romero could lead to Manuel Locatelli joining Juventus.
The story goes that if Spurs sign Romero, Atalanta will then use those funds to sign Merih Demiral from Juve, thus, giving the Old Lady the finances required to complete a deal for Locatelli.
Of course, Arsenal are also interested in Locatelli, and they’re reportedly waiting in the wings just in case Juventus fail with their pursuit.
However, it now seems as though Juve will be able to get their man if Romero joins Spurs, and there’s something of a cruel irony in that fact.
Spurs, Arsenal’s biggest rivals, may put the final nail in the coffin of their pursuit of Locatelli, and as you can imagine, Spurs supporters can see the funny side of that.
