Speculation is mounting that Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers player Adama Traore.
Traore has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs in recent seasons.
But the interest got much more serious this past summer when Nuno Espirito Santo – who brought Traore to Wolves – became Tottenham’s new manager.
The Portuguese has since been sacked by the Lilywhites but it appears as if Traore remains a target.
The Telegraph reported this week that the North Londoners are still keen on the Spain international, valued at £30 million.
And Alasdair Gold, who exclusively covers Tottenham for Football London, has confirmed that Fabio Paratici is a fan.
The journalist even added that Paratici once tried to sign the player for Juventus but failed to complete a deal, but Gold isn’t fully convinced that Antonio Conte – who replaced Nuno – will want him as much.
He said on YouTube: “In terms of Tottenham, Paratici is a fan. He tried to sign him for Juventus for quite big money. Obviously Nuno was a big fan. Whether Conte’s a fan I’m not entirely sure.”
Statistics
If Conte isn’t a fan of the Wolves attacker, you can see why.
Despite being as quick and as strong as anything, Traore has zero goals and zero assists in 17 Premier League outings this season for the Molineux club.
Even last season, he managed three goals and three assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
For all his other talents, Traore simply isn’t productive where it matters and Tottenham should – and probably will – give him a wide berth.
