Sunderland defender Papy Djilobodji has struggled in his first few appearances at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland defender Papy Djilobodji has told the Chronicle that he does not regret moving to the Stadium of Light this summer.
David Moyes signed Djilobodji from Chelsea for a fee of £8 million (Chronicle), but things have not gone according to plan for the 27-year-old yet.
Djilobodji has struggled in most his Sunderland appearances to date, with the North East side’s form poor.

The Black Cats are currently rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, but Djilobodji insists that he is enjoying his time on Wearside.
“I had a chat with Sunderland, and it seemed to go really well. I was happy to move, and I’m still really pleased that I made that decision,” he said.
“It’s true to say that it’s not the same, and the clubs [Sunderland and Chelsea] are in different positions at the moment.

“But you take risks in football, and if you take your chance and have a bit of luck, who’s to say you might not end up in a better position in the long run? In time, there’s no reason why I cannot be in a better position here and be as strong as them.”
Despite Djilobodji’s slow start at Sunderland, he put in arguably his best performance for Moyes’ side in their last match.
Djilobodji was selected to start against Bournemouth, and helped Sunderland pick up a 2-1 victory on the south coast.
That win has pushed Sunderland much closer to safety, and managed to bring some confidence back to the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland are next in action at the weekend, when they take on fellow strugglers Hull City.
