A round-up of the latest transfer gossip from around Europe as Real Madrid submit a contract offer to Kylian Mbappe, and two teams begin talks with Tottenham Hotspur.

Los Blancos have now made their first move in an attempt to sign Mbappe in a free transfer this summer. The France star is in the final six months of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain and is now free to negotiate a Bosman deal. He has been at the Parc des Princes since 2017.

Multiple Premier League clubs are also stepping up their efforts in the transfer market in the final week of the window. West Ham United and Crystal Palace are close to finalising moves. While two top-flight teams have approached Tottenham to fend off continental competition.

Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe wants to join Real Madrid in a free transfer when his contract expires in June. But Bild notes Los Blancos are only offering the 25-year-old €35m-a-year (£573k/-aw). Mbappe is seeking a wage of €70m-a-year (£1.1m-a/w), plus bonuses.

Mbappe agreeing to join Real Madrid in a free transfer can also help Manchester United sign Vinicius Jr, adds the Mirror.  The Red Devils retain an interest in signing the 23-year-old, who Sport reports Galacticos president Florentino Perez is willing to sell to fund Mbappe’s arrival.

Kalvin Phillips has passed his medical ahead of West Ham United finalising his loan transfer from Manchester City. Per Sky Sports, the 28-year-old will join the Hammers for the rest of this season. The Irons will also get an option to buy the England midfielder in the summer.

Crystal Palace are close to reaching an agreement with KRC Genk over the transfer of Daniel Munoz, reports The South London Press. The Eagles have strived to sign a new right-back in the January market with Nathaniel Clyne and Joel Ward both out of contract in the summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are considering terminating Tanguy Ndombele’s loan at Galatasaray this month, per TuttoMercatoWEB. The 27-year-old has struggled for game time in the Super Lig so far. But Al-Ettifaq are considering the Stade Rennais target to replace Jordan Henderson.

Sunderland have once again informed Manchester United of their interest in signing Amad Diallo on loan this month. But the Manchester Evening News notes that the Red Devils are not looking to let the 21-year-old, who spent last season at Sunderland, leave Old Trafford.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has now asked Perez to re-sign Karim Benzema during the January transfer window. Sport also reports that the striker is not happy at Al-Ittihad and he wants to leave Saudi Arabia. Real Madrid initially turned down Benzema’s request to return.

Lazio are interested in signing Bryan Gil, with the 22-year-old set to leave Tottenham before the January transfer window closes. But Corriere dello Sport reports that the Spaniard looks ‘destined’ to stay in the Premier League. Brighton and Brentford are negotiating a loan deal.

AC Milan have marked RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko as a leading target for the summer transfer market, notes Calciomercato. But the 20-year-old is unlikely to leave the Bundesliga club for anything less than his €50m (£42.5m) release clause having joined them last July.
