Paper talk: Brighton look to beat Arsenal, Fulham to £30m Dewsbury-Hall transfer

A round-up of the latest transfer gossip from across Europe as Brighton & Hove Albion try to pip Arsenal and Fulham to a transfer for Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The 25-year-old has attracted interest from a clutch of Premier League clubs for a last-gasp January switch. He has been an instrumental cog in the Foxes’ Championship side so far this term. The midfielder has nine goals and nine assists in 27 games, having also started in 25.

Dewsbury-Hall’s form at the King Power Stadium has helped Leicester to sit top of the table through 28 games with 66 points. Leicester are seven points clear of Ipswich Town and host Birmingham City in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday after winning 3-2 at Millwall.

Brighton & Hove Albion are in talks with Leicester City over a transfer for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, per The Athletic. The Foxes want £30m for the midfielder with Arsenal and Fulham two of his further suitors. But Brighton, while the favourites for his move, are looking to pay less.

Additionally, talkSPORT reports that Brentford and Fulham have registered their interest in a transfer for Dewsbury-Hall. But Leicester have slapped their £30m price tag on the 25-year-old in an attempt to retain a key part of the Foxes’ promotion-chasing Championship squad.

FC Barcelona and Liverpool are among the European clubs scouting Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, reports Calciomercato. But the Bianconeri are desperate to keep their young jewel at all costs. So, Juve are in talks to hand Yildiz a new contract to June 2029 with a big pay rise.

SSC Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has confirmed that Victor Osimhen will leave the Serie A side this summer. Via quotes by Sport Mediaset, the Azzurri chief further expects he will join Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or switch to the Premier League in the off-season.

Real Betis have opened talks with West Ham United about the transfer of Pablo Fornals, per Mundo Deportivo. Manuel Pellegrini’s La Liga side hope to get a loan deal with an obligation to buy done in the coming days. Real Betis have already reached an agreement with Fornals.

Brentford are scouting the lower tiers in their search for a replacement for Ivan Toney, notes the Mirror. The Bees are looking to put a succession plan for the Arsenal and Chelsea target in place with club chiefs keen to find another ‘unpolished’ star before Toney’s inevitable exit.

Burnley are close to signing Montpellier centre-half Maxime Esteve after submitting a €12m (£10m) offer, per L’Equipe. The Clarets’ bid, featuring a further €2m (£1.5m) in add-ons plus a 15% profit-based sell-on clause, meets MHSC’s stance. Esteve is likely to move next week.

AC Milan chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has identified Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee as the San Siro squad’s top transfer target. Calciomercato reports the Rossoneri will push for a deal in their pursuit of a young forward with Bayern Munich unlikely to use their buy-back clause.

Juventus technical director Cristiano Giuntoli has personally been following Arsenal product Charlie Patino for a long time, per Calciomercato.it. The Turin natives are currently scouting the 20-year-old while on loan to Swansea City in view of a summer move for the midfielder.
