Tottenham Hotspur sporting director Fabio Paratici is now trying to agree personal terms with Metz midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, who has been compared to Liverpool star Sadio Mane, according to ESPN.
What’s the story?
ESPN are reporting that Tottenham have agreed a fee with Metz over the signing of Sarr in the summer transfer window.
Spurs will pay the French club €10 million (£8.59m) upfront for the teenage midfielder and €5 million (£4.29m) in add-ons.
Metz are also optimistic that the 18-year-old will stay at the club on loan for this season.
Tottenham sporting director Paratici is now trying to agree personal terms with the Senegal international and his agent.
The report has added that it is very likely that this agreement will be reached very soon.

One for the future
That Sarr is only 18 and Metz want to keep him on loan for this season suggests that the Senegalese is one for the long term.
Tottenham are clearly thinking of the future and what Sarr would add to the team.

Sarr has already started to show what he is capable of, scoring three goals in 18 Ligue 1 starts last season and has played 173 minutes in the league this campaign.
The youngster can play in an attacking midfield role or in a central midfield position, and has actually be compared to Liverpool forward and Senegal international teammate Mane.

Senegal head coach Aliou Cisse told Wiw Sport in June, as translated by HITC Sport at the time: “Pape Matar Sarr is a boy with a great future. He is steeped in talent.
“For me, he is like Sadio Mane. It’s true he has less experience than Mane and has proven less than him, but he is capable of playing in several systems.”
