Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that he has been told by a contact that Metz midfielder Pape Matar Sarr will join Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Solhekol has told Sky Sports that Sarr, who has been compared to Liverpool star Sadio Mane, himself wants to move to Spurs.

The well-known and well-respected Sky Sports journalist has said that he has been told by a contact that Tottenham will be able to complete the deal, and that the 18-year-old will become a Spurs player.

Solhekol said on Sky Sports: “The player himself wants to sign for Tottenham, and he is ready to sign a six-year deal.”

The reporter added: “Some of the biggest clubs in Europe have been trying to sign him, so I don’t think it is quite done and dusted yet.

“But in the past five minutes I have spoken to a contact who is in France, who is working on the deal, and he said to me this player is going to sign for Spurs.”

Exciting update for Tottenham Hotspur

Earlier today, we covered a report from ESPN claiming that Tottenham and Metz have agreed on a fee for the teenage midfielder.

Metz are hopeful that the youngster will stay at the club on loan for this season.

Sarr is only 18, and although he is very talented and promising, he is unlikely to get straight into the Tottenham midfield now.

It would make sense for the Senegal international to stay on loan at Metz for another season and continue to develop and progress as a footballer.

Sarr has played 173 minutes in Ligue 1 for Metz this season.

During the 2020-21 campaign, the midfielder made 18 starts and four substitute appearances in the league, scoring three goals in the process.
