According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla on his website, AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini is now in direct contact with the agent of Nicolo Zaniolo, who is wanted by Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United as well.
AC Milan want to sign Tottenham and Leeds target Nicolo Zaniolo
Pedulla has claimed that Maldini is in direct contact with Zaniolo’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, over a move for the Italy international attacking midfielder from AS Roma.
Defending Serie A champions Milan would ideally want to sign the 23-year-old playmaker in the summer of 2023, but they could bring forward their plans to January.
Pedulla has added that Tottenham are in talks with Roma over Zaniolo, and has claimed that Leeds and West Ham United are also keen on the youngster, who has immense “natural quality”, acording to comments from Italy head coach Roberto Mancini in RomaPress in 2022.

Worrying for Spurs?
In our view, AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini now getting personally involved in the race for Nicolo Zaniolo is worrying for Tottenham Hotspur.
Milan won the Serie A title last season and are one of the biggest clubs in the world.
That Italian legend Maldini personally wants him could be a huge factor for Zaniolo in his final decision.
Tottenham are reportedly not willing to meet Roma’s demands for the playmaker, so that does leave the door open for Milan.
