The Palace striker registered three assists against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday afternoon proved a dream for Alan Pardew and all of Crystal Palace’s supporters. For Newcastle fans and Steve McClaren, though, the nightmare continues.
Crystal Palace thrashed Newcastle 5-1 and fans were able to enjoy strong performances from the likes of Yannick Bolasie, Wilfried Zaha, James McArthur and more.
A man who particularly caught the eye considering some of the criticism thrown at him over the course of the season, meanwhile, was Connor Wickham.
The 22-year-old striker registered no less than three assists against the Magpies and looks as though he is coming of age. The Palace man still has a long way to go, of course, especially when it comes to adding goals to his game at Selhurst Park.
But, on a day when the Eagles soared and Newcastle flailed yet again, Wickham was one of those who stood out for Pardew’s men. Can the young forward now go on to make a name for himself at Crystal Palace?
Here’s how Palace supporters reacted on Twitter to the 22-year-old’s lively display against the Magpies. Newcastle fans will want to forget all about him…
