“Ideally you want to keep both of them,” Wenger was quoted by the Mirror when also speaking about Mesut Ozil, who is out of contract next summer as well.
“I said many times that would be decided in December.”
Roy Hodgson, manager of Crystal Palace, looks on prior to the Premier League match against West Ham United.
This will come as interesting news to Crystal Palace and West Ham United, with the Times reporting both Premier League sides are keen on signing Wilshere.
The player himself is open to an exit from North London after a warning from England boss Gareth Southgate that the 25-year-old would not be included in his squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia unless he was playing regular first team football.
This season the four games Wilshere has started have come in the Europa League and Carabao Cup, although he was brought off the bench for the 5-2 league win over Everton.
Somewhat surprisingly, according the Daily Mail both Chelsea and Manchester City are considering moves for the England international should he prove his fitness, although whether he would get more game time at either in comparison to what he is currently under Wenger is debateable.
