Aston Villa fans have praised Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds for the season they have had after it was confirmed on Tuesday that they will finish above Dean Smith’s side.
A little bit of a rivalry has been growing between Villa and Leeds, stemming from their days in the Championship and that infamous showdown at Elland Road when Albert Adomah scored that uncontested goal.
Since Leeds’ return to the Premier League, both Villa and Leeds fans have enjoyed throwing verbal swings at each other, added with a couple of controversial comments from certain pundits.
Earlier on in the season, when Leeds beat Villa 3-0, Gabby Agbonlahor was called out by Leeds official Twitter account for labelling Bielsa a ‘myth’.
Well, certain Villa supporters clearly don’t agree with that previous claim as they praised him for the job he has done in Yorkshire.
When Bielsa took the reigns at Leeds, they were a mid-table Championship side, with no vision and hope of moving forward.
But many of those players that were with him during his early days – Stuart Dallas, Klich, Liam Cooper, Luke Ayling and Kalvin Phillips are now ripping it up with the big boys.
Following Leeds’ 2-0 win against Southampton yesterday, they cemented a top ten finish and ensured that they will finish above Villa this season.
