Some Liverpool fans on social media are gutted after Noni Madueke signed a new contract with PSV.
The winger had been linked with a move to Anfield, but now it seems as though he’ll be staying in the Netherlands for the foreseeable future, signing a new contract until 2025.
As you can imagine, Liverpool fans aren’t best pleased with this news.
The Reds could certainly do with some more depth up top, and Madueke would have been an excellent addition – he’s young, he’s fast and he’s homegrown.
With Mo Salah and Sadio Mane getting towards the back-end of their prime years, Liverpool need to bed in some new young talent, and with the African Cup of Nations coming up this season, a new attacker is surely on the Reds’ agenda.
However, that attacker is unlikely to be Madueke after he signed his new deal, much to the annoyance of the Anfield faithful, who made their thoughts clear on social media.
Whether or not Madueke does end up in the Premier League next summer remains to be seen, but the winger will seemingly be staying in the Eredivisie for at least one more term.
