Leeds United fans have expressed their disappointment and pain towards the news that Robin Koch will undergo knee surgery.

The Premier League club’s official website shared that Koch picked up an injury during Leeds’ defeat at Chelsea from the weekend.

It is said that Koch initially injured his knee during Leeds’ opening day trip to Liverpool, but a further knock will now result in him being out of action.

The Leeds faithful are understandably gutted at the news because they felt their £13 million [Goal] summer signing was getting better game by game.

As Marcelo Bielsa proved in the Championship, he doesn’t like to have much squad depth and this injury does weaken the Whites more than it would for another team.

It will be interesting to see if Leeds, and especially the pretty stubborn Bielsa, dip their hand into their pockets when the January transfer window opens.

Liam Cooper has had his injury problems himself, whilst Diego Llorente is also settling in at Elland Road, but it’s quite clear another fresh face will be needed if Koch is out of action for a significant amount of time.

It remains to be seen what the future holds, but in the meantime, a selection of Leeds fans reacted to the news about Koch:
