Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the Monaco man.
According to a recent report from the Daily Star Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are battling with Manchester City to sign Djibiril Sidibe this summer, and if Kyle Walker moves to the latter, Spurs could have their eye on the ideal replacement.
At 24, Sidibe is the perfect age to make the move to the Premier League; young enough to have his best years ahead of him but old enough to hit the ground running in North London.
He also possess the pace, power and innate talent to go down a storm at Tottenham, easing the pressure if first-choice right-back Walker does move on in the coming months.
Sidibe has been an integral part of Monaco’s surge to the Ligue 1 title and the Champions League semi-finals, playing his part in some blistering, attack-minded football that has entertained fans and neutrals alike.
With 47 appearances in all competitions this season, the France international has quickly made the right-back spot his own after previously enjoying spells at Lille and Troyes, and his versatility makes him an even more exciting prospect.
Equally comfortable on the left flank or as a right winger, Sidibe is exactly the kind of player Tottenham should be targeting as they bid to win silverware and challenge both domestically and in Europe.
The Frenchman knows what it takes to win trophies and to make waves in the Champions League and he is only going to get better in the years ahead
With a contract until the summer of 2021 he will not come cheap, if at all, but depending on who leaves Tottenham this summer they could have significant transfer funds and Sidibe should be one of the first names on manager Mauricio Pochettino’s wish list.
