Paul Merson has written in The Daily Star that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel should play Timo Werner against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea will take on City in the Premier League tomorrow.
Former Arsenal star Merson believes that defending Premier League champions City struggle against pace.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that Chelsea boss Tuchel should play forward Werner and striker Romelu Lukaku against the Citizens.
Merson wrote in The Daily Star: “I think you need as much pace as possible in your team against City.
“Put Timo Werner in there and I don’t think City cope with the pace of him and Lukaku.”

Big test for Manchester City
Werner does not tend to score too many goals, but Chelsea now have Lukaku for that.
What Werner – who cost Chelsea for £45 million in June 2020, according to Sky Sports – does is stretch defences, and his pace and running can be a problem for City.

The Citizens are strong defensively, but Chelsea are scoring goals and are making it tough for the opposition players.
Werner has made one start and three substitute appearances in the Premier League, and has scored one goal in one Carabao Cup appearance for Chelsea so far this season.
Lukaku has scored three goals in four Premier League matches and has scored one goal in one Champions League game for the Blues so far this campaign.
