According to The Mirror, Everton are preparing a £35m move for Watford’s Ismaila Sarr in January.

The Toffees could certainly do with more of a cutting edge in their attack and Sarr would provide that.

As he’s shown at the World Cup, the Senegalese star can be a handful for any defender with his ridiculous pace and immense skill.

Don’t just take our word for it though, former Everton winger, Gerard Deulofeu, has previously gone on the record to hail Sarr during their time together at Watford.

Deulofeu loves Sarr

The Spaniard spoke highly of his teammate back in 2020.

“He’s [Sarr] a really good player,” said Deulofeu. “A really young player, his pace is amazing and it helps the team a lot because when we do the counter-attacks from both sides,” Deulofeu said.

“He gets good assists, good goals. In the present and in the future, he’s going to be a really good player for Watford so we’re really happy to have him in the team.”

Everton have been lacking a player like this for a little while.

Sarr is a player that can genuinely change a game on his own, and that is exactly what Everton need right now.

The Toffees’ attacking play has been dour this season, and it doesn’t look like that will change anytime soon under Frank Lampard, so a bit of individuality is needed – and that’s where Sarr could come in.

As Deulofeu says, his pace is remarkable and at the age of just 24, he has a big future ahead of him.
