Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in keeping West Ham United defender Sam Byram.

It was reported by Nottinghamshire Live towards the end of last month that West Ham’s Sam Byram is one of the loanees that Nottingham Forest are interested in keeping beyond this summer.
Forest fans have only had glimpses of the right-back throughout this season. He went into April having only made one Championship start at the City Ground, but has returned from injury and since started another four games for Martin O’Neill’s side.
He has shown enough during his time in the team to win plenty of fans over, and it appears that O’Neill would like to keep him next season. And it seems that Forest have received a boost to their hopes of keeping the former Leeds United star.
West Ham confirmed on their official website this week that Pablo Zabaleta had had the option in his contract activated, meaning that he is set to stay at the London Stadium until the end of next season.

Zabaleta leaving the Hammers this summer had seemed like a real possibility for much of the campaign. And with Ryan Fredericks recently establishing himself as Manuel Pellegrini’s first-choice, it seemed entirely possible that the Irons boss may want to have another look at Byram when he returns in the summer.
It still remains to be seen what his plans are for the 25-year-old. But Forest fans would surely be forgiven for thinking that Zabaleta committing his immediate future to West Ham must improve their chances of agreeing another deal for Byram when the window opens.
