West Ham United ace has urged his teammates to remain focused.
West Ham star Pablo Zabaleta spoke to reporters after his side’s fine 2-0 win away at Fulham on Saturday, and shared how he and his teammates must keep focused, if they are to continue their excellent recent run, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Hammers have won four Premier League games on the bounce, and they now sit in ninth spot in the table, just two points adrift of sixth placed Manchester United.
Zabaleta, 33, has played a key role for West Ham this season, with his highly energetic performances up and down the right-hand flank defying his advancing years.
The Argentine spoke to reporters on Saturday, and shared what would be the worst thing he and his teammates could do now, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“It is brilliant. Four back-to-back wins shows the team is doing really well but nothing is done. The worst thing we can do in this moment is just relax and think everything is done and drop the intensity in games and all this. We just need to keep focused on what we’re doing.”
Next up for West Ham is a home game against Watford on Saturday, and Manuel Pellegrini’s side will have to be at their very best, if they are to beat the Hornets.
If results elsewhere go their way, the Hammers could climb up to sixth place in the table with a win, and what an incredible turnaround that would represent for the east London outfit.
