According to Sport, West Ham United defender Pablo Zabaleta is considering retiring at the end of the season.

Zabaleta could hang up his boots after what has been a glistening career at the top level.

Ryan Fredericks has struggled since moving to the London Stadium, with Zabaleta establishing himself as first choice right-back now.

West Ham’s first-team would be weakened by the retirement of the veteran defender, who is on a £90,000-a-week contract (Daily Mail).

And West Ham must be hoping that Zabaleta doesn’t retire yet, until they are far better placed to deal with his departure.
