West Ham defender Pablo Zabaleta spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s hard-fought 3-1 win over AFC Wimbledon in the second round of the Carabao Cup last night, and highlighted something that his team desperately need to improve in time for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Wolves at the London Stadium, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The Hammers trailed their League One opponents for 63 minutes last night, before three late goals safely secured their passage into the third round of the competition.

West Ham need to improve and be far better at the weekend, however, as they look for a win that would lift them off the foot of the Premier League table.

Zabaleta, 33, spoke to reporters after last night’s win over AFC Wimbledon, and shared what the Hammers need to improve upon, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“We conceded the first goal of the game and it was tough. Them going down to ten men made it a little easier for us but we need to improve in the final third. We are creating so many chances and we need to be more clinical and of course improve on set plays too, because we conceded in the last game on a set play as well so we need to be stronger than that.”

Wolves will represent a real test for West Ham on Saturday, and Manuel Pellegrini’s men will have to be at their very best, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of winning the match.
