The West Ham United defender was highly critical of his side’s performance against Everton.

West Ham ace Pablo Zabaleta spoke to reporters about his side’s woeful display against Everton on Saturday, and lamented their lack of character, as well as suggesting that they have a weak mentality, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Hammers currently sit in 11th spot in the Premier League table, two points adrift of seventh placed Wolves, and Saturday was not the first time that they have spurned the chance to jump inside the top seven.
West Ham have just six Premier League games remaining this season, and with away trips to Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham still to come, they will have their work cut-out if they are to qualify for the Europa League next term.
And Zabaleta told reporters how the Hammers need to make drastic improvements if they are to be considered as genuine challengers for the top seven, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“We didn’t show any character. We were poor on the ball, we gave the ball away so cheaply, we didn’t create many chances, we were really poor at both ends of the pitch. It was a bad day, really. We have lost so many opportunities to be in that seventh position and it shows a little bit the weak mentality that we have probably got and something we need to improve looking forward.”
Next up for West Ham is a trip to Chelsea on Monday night, and Manuel Pellegrini’s men will have to be on their very best form, if they are to take anything away from the game at Stamford Bridge.
