Leeds United attacker Pablo Hernandez has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that he is not thinking about his future right now.

Hernandez, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, initially joined Leeds on a sixth-month contract from Al-Arabi in the summer of 2016.

In the January transfer window, the 31-year-old signed a permanent contract until the end of the 2016-17 campaign.

As announced on Leeds’s official website, the club have the option to extend the deal by 12 months at the end of the agreement.

The Spaniard has stated that he is not thinking about his future right now and is focused on helping the Whites reach the Championship playoffs.

“I don’t think about this,” Hernandez told The Yorkshire Evening Post when asked about his future. “I have a lot of experience and my experience tells me that it is a mistake to think about this now.

“The only thing to think about is being on the pitch and helping the team go to the play-offs or go to the Premier League. I think it’s a mistake for me to think about my future.”

Hernandez is a very mature footballer, and he is 100% right in not thinking about his future right now.

After all, this is a crucial period in the season for Leeds, who have to make sure that they finish in the top six of the Championship.

The former Valencia star is arguably the most talented player in the current Leeds team, but his recent performances have not been too impressive.

Hernandez has scored four goals and created 73 chances in 28 Championship appearances for Leeds so far this season.
