Pablo Hernandez was full of praise for the Leeds United supporters after the Whites’ Championship win over Middlesbrough at the weekend.

Thomas Christiansen’s men gave their fans something to cheer after a torrid spell before the international break as they ensured that Garry Monk’s first return to Elland Road was a miserable one as Leeds beat Middlesbrough 2-1 on Sunday.
The game was played in front of another packed house in Yorkshire, with Leeds once again boasting one of the highest average attendances in England this season, let alone in the Championship. And Hernandez suggested that the support was a key reason for the victory.
“It’s unbelievable,” he told LUTV.
“We have the best fans in the league, not only at Elland Road because when you play in London or in one city, you have two or three thousand fans – it’s unbelievable.
“I don’t see this ever in my career, it’s an unbelievable feeling when you go on the pitch and I can only tell the fans thanks because this support gives the team extra power.”
The problem with having such passionate support is undoubtedly that when things go wrong, it is difficult for the negativity to be quashed. However, when things are going well, there is no question that the support can be hugely beneficial.
Christiansen will argue that it helped inspire the winning run that put Leeds amongst the pace-setters in the early weeks of the season, and the momentum gained from the win over Boro will surely be amplified because of the atmosphere that was created inside Elland Road on Sunday.
And with table-toppers Wolves ahead in their next game, Leeds will surely need their fans to be as good as Hernandez believes them to be if they are to get a positive result from Molineux.
