Leeds United fans aren’t sold by Pablo Hernandez’s prediction.

Leeds United fans on Twitter are delighted that Pablo Hernandez has signed a new contract – but some aren’t as optimistic about his latest claim regarding promotion.

After putting pen to paper on a new two-year deal, ending speculation about his future in West Yorkshire, the Spanish star said he believes that it’s achieveable for Leeds to reclaim a spot in the Premier League by 2020.

United haven’t been in the top flight since way back in 2004 and, considering they are set for a mid-table Championship finish this season, some fans can’t see Hernandez’s optimism bearing fruit any time soon – and certainly not in the referenced timeframe.

Here is some of their reaction to the former Swansea City star’s comments:

Hernandez’s prediction may or may not come true, but what cannot be debated is that Leeds’ chances of promotion are far better with him than without him.

Samu Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski were the Whites’ star performers during the first half of the campaign, but Hernandez, signed by Garry Monk in 2016, has been the most impressive and most consistent player by a distance overall this season, and signing him up for another two years is definitely good for their hopes of reaching the big time.
