Pablo Hernandez has posted on Instagram ‘Thank You, Marcelo’ after Marcelo Bielsa was sacked by Leeds United on Sunday.

After Leeds were thrashed by Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road, the club made the call to part ways with their popular manager.

Hernandez, who earned promotion with Leeds under Bielsa, sent this simple yet warming message.

There is no doubt that, one day, there will be a statue of Bielsa outside of Elland Road.

And there will be some Leeds fans who will argue that Hernandez, who was a magician for the club in England’s second-tier, probably deserves one right next to him.

This would have been a hard call by the powers that be in Yorkshire because of what Bielsa did for the club.

It may have ended with Leeds shipping goal after goal, but the Argentine went out his way and that’s by not changing his ways.

But, at the end of the day, he has left the club in a far better position than when he first joined them in England’s second-tier.

For Leeds now, it’s a case of bringing in his replacement as soon as possible.

His first task will be locking horns with two Midlands side, at first Leicester City at the King Power, before taking on Aston Villa at Elland Road.
