Pablo Hernandez was partially at fault for Leeds United’s defeat at Ashton Gate 13 months ago.

Leeds United look to quell a three-match losing streak on Saturday as Thomas Christiansen’s side visit in-form Bristol City.
The Whites’ promising start to the Championship season has been derailed by defeats by Cardiff, Sheffield Wednesday and Reading in recent weeks and Leeds can’t be short on incentive when it comes to putting things right.
But one man who might have extra motivation for victory on Saturday is Pablo Hernnadez.

The 32-year-old missed last-minute penalty in the 1-0 defeat to Reading last week, with perhaps the worst and laziest spot-kick Leeds fans will see for a while.
In general, the Spanish playmaker has seen his level of performance called into question over by supporters over the past month or so, but there are two reasons as to why redemption is on the agenda for the former Swansea ace this weekend.
Leeds fans will remember that their side – then managed by Garry Monk – lost 1-0 at Bristol last season, with Marlon Pack’s 59th-minute strike enough on the day.

What they might not remember is the fact that showboating from Hernandez, in his own half no less, is what led to the goal in the first place as Pack stripped him of possession en route to starting and finishing the move which led to United’s demise on the day.
For all of his flair and talent, the four-time Spain international can be as much a liability as he can be an asset, and producing a performance befitting of his undoubted ability on Saturday would right the wrongs of 13 months ago and perhaps act as the first step on the road to becoming a big player for the club again.
