Leeds United attacking midfielder Pablo Hernandez has revealed to The Yorkshire Evening Post why he is happy working with Thomas Christiansen.

Christiansen was appointed the Leeds head coach in the summer following the departure of Garry Monk, who is now in charge of Championship rivals Middlesbrough.

Monk was appointed the Whites’ boss in the summer of 2016, and he did well during the 2016-17 season.

The West Yorkshire outfit were in the running for a place in the Championship playoffs until the final weeks of the 2016-17 campaign.

Hernandez joined Leeds in the summer of 2016 initially on loan from Al-Arabi before making the move permanent in January 2017.

The 32-year-old, who can also operate as a winger, was one of the best players for Leeds last season.

The Spaniard was the creator-in-chief for the Whites in 2016-17, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in 32 Championship starts.

Hernandez has explained why he is happy to be working under Christiansen at Leeds, who are second in the league table at the moment with 14 points from six matches, just two points behind leaders Cardiff City.

The former Valencia and Swansea City star has scored one goal and provided one assist in six Championship appearances for Leeds so far this season.

“I’m very happy with (Christiansen) because he knows my style,” Hernandez told The Yorkshire Evening Post.

“His style is very Spanish because he’s a Spanish gaffer and all his staff are Spanish. I think this helps me to show my best football.”
