The Leeds United midfielder has been speaking following his new deal.
Leeds United play-maker Pablo Hernandez has been speaking to West Yorkshire Sport about the deal he recently signed at Elland Road.
The former Swansea City player agreed a permanent contract until the end of the current campaign, with the option of an additional year, and the 31-year-old has since confirmed that option is not dependent on Leeds winning promotion back to the Premier League.

Leeds are currently fifth in the Championship, pushing hard for a play-off spot or better under manager Garry Monk.
Hernandez has played his part in that resurgence and it is great news that he has committed the rest of the campaign – and possibly the next one – to the Whites.
Monk knew him well from their time together at Swansea and it was no surprise to see him follow his former gaffer to Elland Road.
Pontus Jansson is expected to make his move to Leeds permanent later this month and it will be interesting to see what other transfer business Monk and new joint-owner Andrea Radrizzani has planned before the window slams shut.
