Pablo Hernandez has told LUTV that he is happy to excite the Leeds United fans with his skills on the pitch.
With the ball, the 32-year-old, who joined under Garry Monk last summer, is one of Leeds’ most talented players.
The former Swansea City winger, who has four Spain caps, has a penchant for the regular nutmeg and has humiliated more than one opponent with it this season.
However, Hernandez, who has also enjoyed two spells with Valencia, says there is nothing in his contract about being rewarded for such cheeky manoeuvres.
He told LUTV, when asked if he’s on a nutmeg bonus: “No it’s something I don’t think about. For me it’s spontaneous in the game but it’s good for the fans to watch these skills.
“I always say the same: football is my job but I try to enjoy the game and these things help me enjoy it.”
Along with two new team-mates Samu Saiz and Egjzan Alioski, Hernandez is part of a formidable three-pronged attack behind Leeds’ lone striker and the trident will hope to help their team prolong its good form on Saturday.
United, third in the Championship after winning three and drawing two of their first five league outings, host Burton Albion at Elland Road as Thomas Christiansen’s side go in search of a first home league win of what’s been an excellent campaign thus far.
