Leeds United’s Pablo Hernandez has been speaking about his future.
Speaking to LUTV, Pablo Hernandez has batted away questions about his long-term Leeds United future.
The 32-year-old Spanish playmaker is contracted to Leeds until next June, having initially joined a short-term loan deal under Garry Monk last summer.
Hernandez, who has four caps for his country, is a popular figure among United fans for his flair and most of them would love to see him at Elland Road for the foreseeable future, providing his form does not nosedive.
And although the former Swansea man says he is “very happy” in West Yorkshire, he also insists that his long-term future is not a priority for him at this moment in time.
“I’m very happy here. I have one more year on my contract but I don’t think about this. When one player thinks too much about the future he can’t give his all on the pitch,” he told LUTV, when asked how long he plans on spending at Leeds.
“The most important thing for me now is to help the team, help the team go to the Premier League and I’m sure if I play good then the club will offer me new contract in the future.”
Hernandez contributed six goals in eight assists in 35 Championship games for the Whites last season.
