Pablo Hernandez claims Leeds fans give Whites extra power

Pablo Hernandez suggested that he believes that the Leeds United fans drive the team on after they secured another win in the Championship.

Pablo Hernandez has told BBC Radio Leeds that the Leeds fans were unbelievable during their victory over Hull City at the weekend, and insisted that the supporters give Thomas Christiansen’s side extra power.

Leeds go into Christmas in a very positive mood as a stunning goal from Hernandez gave the Whites a 1-0 win over the Tigers that leaves them fifth in the Championship and going into their Boxing Day clash with Burton Albion having won their last three fixtures.

And after the win over Nigel Adkins’ men, Hernandez heaped praise on the fans for the atmosphere that they created inside Elland Road, and suggested that it makes a significant difference to the team.

“It’s unbelievable. It’s unbelievable. With this atmosphere, we have extra motivation, extra power I would say. We play with 12 men at Elland Road,” he told BBC Radio Leeds.

It will certainly encourage Christiansen that Leeds are winning games right now even though they are struggling to rediscover their best form from the start of the campaign, with only a single goal being scored against Hull, and against Norwich before that.

If they can still manage to pick up regular wins while they are not at their best, then that will do their confidence the world of good, especially if they do manage to then put in the kind of performances that saw them go to the top of the table during the early weeks of the season.

Christiansen will certainly be hoping that they find a ruthless streak during the next week as they face two of the division’s bottom four away from home, with their Boxing Day trip to Burton Albion being followed by a visit to St Andrew’s to face Birmingham City on Saturday in their final game of the year.
