Leeds United will be hoping to put the wrongs of last season right ahead of the new Championship campaign.
Pablo Hernandez is seemingly confident ahead of the new Championship season as he stated that the Leeds United players will be at an ‘advantage’ because they now understand Marcelo Bielsa’s methods.
Last season, Leeds reached the play-off semi-finals before heartbreak struck once again, as they will be entering the new season hoping to go one better and reach the Premier League.
Bielsa is a very demanding coach as your quality levels, technical ability, and fitness levels need to be on point if you are to flourish in his system.
Playmaker Hernandez was of Leeds’ best players last season as he is looking at the positives from their previous campaign despite it ending in the manner in which it did.
“Last season was a hard finish for us but, after some days, after the last game against Derby, you can take positive things from the season,” said Hernandez, as quoted by the Mirror.
“Obviously we weren’t promoted to the Premier League. We had this in our hands all season and lost this in the last game.
“But I think a good season is coming because we keep the block, we know now the Bielsa methods, we know what he wants and I think it’s an advantage for us.”
If Leeds can replicate their form from last season into the new Championship campaign then they will be very dangerous and one of the favourites for promotion.
Leeds’ problems didn’t lie in their performance or lack of quality, it was a simple case of making their dominating performances count.
If they become that more ruthless then they will be difficult to stop with the likes of Fulham, Stoke City, West Brom and Cardiff hoping to stop them in their ways.
