Jack Clarke has not featured in Leeds United’s last few games after the worrying scenes earlier in the month.
Pablo Hernandez has admitted that Leeds United are missing Jack Clarke, and expressed his hope that the winger would soon be back available for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, in comments reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Clarke has not played for Leeds since the draw with Middlesbrough earlier in the month. Given how worrying the scenes were at the Riverside Stadium when he was attended to by paramedics, it is fantastic news that there does not appear to be any long-term concerns about the youngster.
And it is completely understandable that Leeds are not looking to rush the 18-year-old back into the side. But of course, Marcelo Bielsa would surely love to have him back as quickly as possible with the Whites involved in an incredibly congested promotion race.
And Hernandez conceded that not having Clarke in their side at this stage of the season is proving challenging.
“We’ve missed him and we hope he recovers fast. He’s a different player for us. He gives us something else,” he said, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
It would be unfair to place too much pressure on Clarke’s shoulders, but there is no question that Leeds will be in a better position when they have him back in the ranks.
As he proved against the likes of Aston Villa and Derby earlier in the season, his ability to glide past full-backs makes him unplayable to play against at times. So Leeds will be hoping that he will be ready to make his return in the near future.
