Everton are reportedly closing in on Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.

According to Sky Sports, PSV Eindhoven technical director Marcel Brands is set for a move to Everton this summer – and a signing may already be heading to Goodison Park.
The Toffees are seemingly planning an overhaul this summer, with manager Sam Allardyce far from safe after a disappointing 2018, and director of football Steve Walsh appears to be primed for the chopping block.
Dutchman Brands is seemingly set to replace Walsh and take over Everton’s transfer business, with one deal potentially on the verge of completion well in advance of the summer window.
Turkish newspaper Aksam report that Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup is close to signing for Everton, and will sign on a free transfer when his contract expires with Besiktas this summer, having so far snubbed the chance to sign a new deal.

The 25-year-old has starred for Besiktas since his 2012 move from Arsenal, and looks set to become a bargain signing for Everton as he makes a return to English football.
Intriguingly, Ozyakup does have something of a history with Everton-bound Brands. As reported by the Daily Mail in 2010, PSV Eindhoven wanted to sign Ozyakup from Arsenal, offering him a return to his country of birth, the Netherlands.
PSV’s technical director at the time of that interest was Brands, and it seems that his pursuit of the midfielder will finally reach the perfect conclusion, over seven years since first registering his interest in Ozyakup.
