Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has not quite had the game time he would have liked, but he has been extremely active on social media over the last few weeks.

The German has been frozen out of the squad by Mikel Arteta, and it looks like his Arsenal career is over. However, he is still training and he might choose to stay until his contract ends at the end of this season.

Ozil asked his followers their dream five-a-side team, picking not more than one player from the same country. The former Real Madrid man revealed his side, and no Arsenal player made the cut.

The German picked Juventus and Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon in goal. The veteran is one of the greatest goalkeepers to grace the game, and he will make many people’s squad.

Ozil picked three of his former teammates in Marcelo, ex-Spurs star Luka Modric and Karim Benzema. The German shared the dressing room with the trio during his time at Real Madrid, and all three have achieved incredible things on the pitch over the years.

In attack, fans expected Ozil to go with his Arsenal teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabon international is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and in the world.

Ozil has seen first-hand what Aubameyang is capable of. But the German has decided to go with a Manchester United player instead of Arsenal’s skipper and their top-scorer from last season.

Marcus Rashford was Ozil’s final pick. The Englishman, still only 23, is a fantastic footballer and an even better human being. The Manchester United star’s work off the pitch has made the world a better place, and he is a fantastic role model for everyone.

Ozil picking a Manchester United player instead of someone from Arsenal would usually spark some controversy. However, no Gunners supporter would mind Rashford ahead of one of their own in the German’s dream five-a-side squad.
