Mesut Ozil has revealed on Twitter that he believes Arsene Wenger is very much a missed figure at Arsenal.

It’s been a rotten first full season for Mikel Arteta in North London.

The 38-year-old has Arsenal 15th in the Premier League ahead of Saturday’s visit of Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.

To make matters worse, the Gunners have only scored 12 goals in 14 Premier League games this season and with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a doubt to face the Blues, there’s question marks over where the goals are going to come from.

Ozil was exiled from the Premier League and Europa League squad by Arteta in October, which is proving a contentious decision by virtue of the fact that he’s a playmaker and no top-flight English team has created less chances than the Emirates Stadium outfit this season.

The 32-year-old was signed by Wenger for a then-club record fee of £42.5 million in 2013.

And Ozil has claimed on Twitter that he and other people at Arsenal are missing the legendary manager, who spent 22 yeard at the club until 2018.
