Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent their best wishes to Sead Kolašinac on Instagram after he left Arsenal.

Arsenal announced that their 28-year-old left-back has left the club by mutual consent and joined French club, Marseille.

When Kolašinac shared that he is ‘happy to announce’ that he has joined the Ligue 1 club, Ozil and Aubameyang simply posted the words ‘good luck bro’, as did other players, such as Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.

To put it simply, it didn’t work out for Kolašinac at Arsenal and the right call was made for him to move on.

There is no doubt that Keiran Tierney is Arsenal’s undisputed number one left-back, although the summer signing, Nuno Tavares, did keep him on the bench for some while when the Scotsman returned from injury.

But Tavares did also showcase for some games that he isn’t ready to play on a regular basis for Arsenal, including him getting subbed off in the first half during their defeat to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.

Kolašinac wasn’t the only defender leaving during the January transfer window because Pablo Mari has departed as well.

Slowly but surely, Mikel Arteta is starting to fine-tune his squad to his liking and making the changes needed to move the club forward.

The words ‘trust the process’ have been used a lot during Arteta’s reign, on some occasions, it has been mocked.

But during other periods of his tenure, he has shown that the club is progressing and heading in the right direction.
