Feyenoord’s latest starlet has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Everton; thankfully, two of England’s most progressive clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are continuing to lay down the foundations of the future by targeting Feyenoord wonderkid Ozancan Kokcu, The Times report.

While both sides look set to fall short with their respective ambitions this season, Spurs are nine points adrift of league leaders Chelsea while The Toffees’ top four hopes were ruined by a disastrous Autumn spell, the current campaign represents another significant step forward in their aims to challenge at the top of the table in the seasons to come.

While Tottenham have pinned down their prized assets, from Harry Kane to Hugo Lloris, Jan Vertonghen to Danny Rose, with long-term contracts, Everton appointed esteemed talent spotter Steve Walsh (below) as Director of Football while attempting to close the gap to the Champions League places by targeting marquee signings and, in particular, keeping hold of Romelu Lukaku.

And The Times report that 18-year-old Feyernoord winger Kokcu has also been identified as a major part of Tottenham and Everton’s respective futures.

The prodigious teenager is out of contract at the end of the season and, The Times add, the Eredivisie leaders are already resigned to the fact that he will not be following in the footsteps of Robin Van Persie (below), Georginio Wijnaldum and co by making his name in the first team.

Spurs and Everton have made a conscious effort to target some of the game’s most exciting talents in recent seasons and Kokcu certainly fits the bill.

Mauricio Pochettino transformed the likes of Harry Kane, Danny Rose and Adam Lallana into England regulars at Tottenham and Southampton while fresh-faced trio Tom Davies, Mason Holgate and Ademola Lookman all look certain to play a major role in the remainder of Everton’s season.

Therefore, Kokcu can rest knowing that, whoever wins the race for his signature, first-team football is very much a possibility.
