Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has told the club’s official website that discipline will be key to beating Chelsea.
The Gunners take on their fierce rivals on Saturday evening in arguably the game of the weekend in the Premier League.
They have not beaten the Blues in the league in the last nine times they have met, their last victory coming all the way back in October 2011.
It will be difficult for them to end that run this time around, with Antonio Conte’s team keen to get back to winning ways after last week’s lost to Chelsea.
Arsene Wenger’s side saw men sent off in both games last season and Oxlade-Chamberlain says keeping their discipline will be key to victory this time.
“First and foremost, it’s a massive game and we just need to keep our discipline and stay in the game,” he told the club’s official website.
“I’d back this team to be able to beat anyone in the league on our day. It’s going to be a big occasion but we can’t get too caught up in it, we just need to go out and play our game.”
Speaking of discipline, controlling striker Diego Costa will also be key to Arsenal’s hopes in this game.
The striker scored the winner at the Emirates last season and has started this season in fine form with five goals in his first five games.
He is the undoubted danger man for Chelsea and keeping him quiet will be key to Arsenal securing all three points against their rivals for the first time in five years.
