Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has claimed on his Instagram story that his Liverpool teammate, Trent Alexander Arnold, ‘struggles’ to throw the ball from ‘two yards’ out, yet he can cross the ball ‘on a dime’.
The attacking midfielder was posting clips from Liverpool training where he was showing Alexander-Arnold whipping in some quality crosses, as per.
Oxlade Chamberlain then showed a clip of him in the middle of a training drill where, TAA, would throw the ball from two yards out, he would knock it back with either foot before the Ox turns around, receives a similar ball from a teammate behind him, but this time he heads it away. And repeat!
But time and time again, Alexander-Arnold was throwing awkward balls at Oxlade-Chamberlain, even though he was yards out.
This is what the Liverpool speedster brilliantly wrote on his Instagram story about TAA: ‘The boy can cross a ball on a dime from out wide but struggles to throw one two yards’.
Alexander-Arnold being away from the England set-up during this international break might just benefit Liverpool during these coming months.
Whilst it was harsh from Gareth Southgate to snub the dead-ball specialist, it has allowed the boyhood Anfield fan to mentally and physically rest and now prove his doubters wrong.
Pushing the Reds back into the top-four and potentially securing number seven in Europe would end Jurgen Klopp’s injury-hit season in a pretty remarkable fashion.
