Liverpool beat Newcastle United 2-0 on Saturday evening.

Liverpool made it just one defeat in their last 20 Premier League games as they beat Newcastle United 2-0 at Anfield on Saturday evening.
The Reds had dropped just two points in their previous four games, and were looking to pick up another win as they seek to nail down a spot in the top four.
Jurgen Klopp’s men were left frustrated for the first 40 minutes as Saturday’s clash, until Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain stole possession and teed up Mohamed Salah to open the scoring.

Liverpool sealed their 2-0 win in the second half, as neat play in midfield released Roberto Firmino, and he found Sadio Mane to finish off a sweeping move and make it 2-0.
The Reds sit second in the Premier League table, and whilst they won’t be catching champions-elect Manchester City, being ‘the best of the rest’ would be something for Klopp to savour at least.
After the final whistle, a host of Liverpool players took to Twitter to celebrate the victory, with goalkeepers Loris Karius – who started the game – and Simon Mignolet both reflecting on a good win.

January signing Virgil van Dijk was happy with all three points and a clean sheet before looking ahead to the Champions League clash with Porto this week, whilst Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain congratulated Salah on another goal.
Salah himself and Andrew Robertson also posted messages to fans as Liverpool racked up yet another victory.
